PURCHASE OF NEW TECHNOLOGICAL EQUIPMENT FOR THE PRODUCTION OF ORGANIC AND GLUTEN-FREE PRODUCTS
Summary:
With the investment in new technological equipment, we aim to expand our activity into the production of organic and gluten-free products. The production of gluten-free products is highly demanding, as only a minimal gluten content is permitted — less than 20 mg/kg.
This can only be achieved with suitably advanced technological equipment, and production must take place in separate facilities. In practice, even a few grains of wheat, for example among buckwheat, could contaminate the entire production process.
For this reason, additional mills are required, used exclusively for grinding gluten-free grains. Since it is very difficult to achieve complete purity of individual grains, we purchased a special color sorting machine. Using sensitive cameras and a special mechanism, the machine removes any other grains, impurities, foreign particles or waste that may be present.
At the end of the production process, different flours and other products must be packaged. Although the company already has a packaging line, it is used for products containing gluten and is therefore not suitable for packaging gluten-free products.
In principle, the existing line could be used, but it would have to be thoroughly cleaned every time. With flour products, where fine dust is present, this is very difficult, time-consuming, and still carries a risk that the products could contain too much gluten. Therefore, we purchased a new packaging line intended exclusively for gluten-free products.
Objectives, main activities and expected results
With the new technology, we will be able to produce new products that we have not produced before — namely a line of organic and gluten-free products.
The investment includes various gluten-free and organic products. As a result of the new equipment, revenues are expected to increase through the sale of new products, while costs will be reduced thanks to a more automated processing system.
